I work with engineering teams and founders who need engineering and leadership help, inside an existing company or getting a new idea off the ground. I take on a few at a time, so each one gets real attention.
AI-assisted engineering for teams
I build AI tools for engineering teams as part of my day job, including a code reviewer that learns from a team's own review history. With your team, we find where engineers lose time, build or adopt a small number of tools, and measure whether they helped. The goal is tools your team keeps using, not a good demo.
Engineering leadership and coaching
I've mentored managers and led 15 to 20 engineers across several teams at once, building data-intensive applications at enterprise scale. One-to-one coaching for engineering managers and tech leads, or a block of sessions with a leadership group. Practical, specific to your team, and confidential.
Architecture and scaling
A second pair of eyes on a design before you build it, or on a system that has started to creak. You get a written summary of what I found and what I would do first. I've done database partitioning, high-traffic services and reliability work at GitHub and Netlify.
Startup technical advisory
A regular call for founders who need an experienced engineer to talk decisions through: hiring, build or buy, what to fix now and what to leave. I started out building first versions of products with New York startups, so I know what an early team can and can't carry.
Hands-on building
I still write code. I can build with your team, from one focused feature to a whole application: an internal tool your team uses every day, or an AI feature inside your product. You get tests and a handover your team can maintain.
How we would start
Most work starts as one of three shapes: an advisory call, a coaching block, or a fixed-scope build. We'll pick one on the intro call.
